Lake Arrowhead real estate is divided into two essential areas of property; the "Arrowhead Woods" and the "surrounding communities."As a buyer, there are several reasons that this will be important to you. Foremost is that Lake Arrowhead is a private lake. To legally launch your boat, own a dock, or use the beaches you must have lake rights. Lake rights are obtainable by purchasing a home in the Arrowhead Woods. The Arrowhead Woods are essentially just a designated area around the lake that is governed by a few guidelines. An architectural committee, for instance, must approve your architectural plans before you may begin building a house in the Arrowhead Woods. As a result, houses in "the Woods" are generally quality homes, both structurally and aesthetically. Naturally, these homes are usually worth more, too. Most, if not all of the luxury homes in Lake Arrowhead are located in the Arrowhead Woods. As of 2007, it is difficult, if not impossible to find a home in the Arrowhead Woods for under $250,000.
